Following visits to Kapama and Timbavati and blown away with the awesome, natural beauty of the wildlife and habitat, organised a specific visit to Kenya and the Masai Mara. The aim was not only to capture natural looking shots in the environment, but also a sequence of more arty, stripped back, high key monochrome images where the amazing wildlife takes centre stage. This gallery tries to encapsulate the essence, power, natural beauty of the subject with minimal distraction. | (Contains 10 photos)
How to define 'creative'? From the glint of light across the ripples of water, to the use of Intentional Camera movements. The capturing of natural abstract or patterns, to the use of post production to create a piece from an obscure starting point. Descriptions are included with each of the images within this gallery. |

This portfolio of landscape images tries to capture a moment in time. I have had the good fortune to visit the majority of these places as part of a vacation or organised trip of some description, and have photographed what is in front of the lens, irrespective of weather, or the potential for better light in the morning or evening. The idea of capturing a moment as opposed to waiting for the right moment could be an appropriate description. | (Contains 20 photos)

The images within this gallery were in the main inspired by a collection of work by French Photographer Nicolas Evariste entitled Dark Zoo. The principals don't just lend themselves to captive animals, and in the right conditions, and some post processing can apply to wildlife in it's natural environment. | (Contains 56 photos)
Whilst photographing 'Monochrome Zoo', I constantly read all of the details provided in relation to the subject of the images. The more I read the more I became aware of just how vulnerable, or in some cases close to extinction some of these beautiful creatures were. The Monochrome Zoo project then extended to capturing various 'vulnerable' members of the Animal Kingdom, and this gallery depicts a range of these wonderful animals from the IUCN red list status 'Of Least Concern" through to those 'Critically Endangered'. It could just be, in the future, zoological parks may be the only places to see some of these wonderful animals. |

This gallery contains predominantly monochrome images, including those of a more high key nature, which don't easily sit within the tight graphic constraints of 'Monochrome Zoo'. | (Contains 60 photos)
Kingfishers are small unmistakable bright blue and orange birds of slow moving or still water. They fly rapidly, low over water, and hunt fish from riverside perches, occasionally hovering above the water's surface. Kingfishers are amber listed because of their unfavourable conservation status in Europe. They are also listed as a Schedule 1 species under the Wildlife and Countryside Act offering them additional protection. (Credit - RSPB) |

Some of the images contained in this gallery were inspired following a fascinating presentation by commercial photographer Mike Curry. He detailed his technique, including pushing the camera to extreme limits to capture what the eye may ordinarily miss reflected in the water. Stretching these concepts and using different weather conditions other than those deemed to be perfect, a mixture of shutter speeds, and using just the light and whatever may be in front of the lens, generated, over various continuing visits a gallery of more abstract photographs. | |

The 2019 Edition of the World Cup, held in the UK, witnessed one of the most dramatic finale's to the event ever seen. Images of the fifteen man squad who represented England during the tournament are given a contemporary feel in this collection. | (Contains 132 photos)
I was priviliged to be accredited for the ICC cricket world cup in 2019. As a cricket fan, having played cricket locally and then covered cricket from grass roots, county championship and International for the regional and national media, it was amazing to cover the tournament in the UK, covering 11 grounds, 7 weeks of fixtures from warm ups, round robin, semi finals to THAT final. A very small selection of images from across the tournament are showcased in this gallery. For any specific requirements in relation to the fixtures covered from a media or editorial perspective please enquire through info@raylawphoto.co.uk.
